Cancellation and Refund Policies

Payment:
Iowa's Center for Real Estate Excellence accepts credit cards on this site. Course fee covers class tuition and any course materials. REGISTRATION IS COMPLETE ONLY WHEN PAYMENT IS MADE IN FULL.

Cancellation by School:
Iowa's Center for Real Estate Excellence, in the event of instructor illness, severe weather or lack of enrollment, reserves the right cancel a class. If for some reason these rare events occur, the student will be given the option of a full refund or credit towards registration for a future class conducted within 120 days or original class date. (Minimum attendance: 5, Maximum attendance: 75, weather cancellation will follow any weather cancellation made by West Des Moines School District.) With most courses on ZOOM, weather issues will not affect the class unless internet fails with provider and students. In this case, a full refund or credit may be applied.

Cancellation or Re-Scheduling by Student:
If a student must cancel, a full refund is only guaranteed if the Center for Real Estate Excellence is notified 72 hours prior to the beginning of the class. If less than 72 hours notice, the student will not be refunded. However, they may use tuition to reschedule for a future class conducted within 120 days of original class date. If a student does not show for registered class, they will be charged the full amount of the course with no credit towards rescheduling for future class. If the student has already picked up materials for the 60 Hour Course, but wishes to cancel within the 72 hour notice policy, they can return the books in original condition immediately or keep the books and be charged $75.

Late Arrivals and Attendance Policy:
According to the Iowa Real Estate Commission’s Administrative rules, a student who arrives late, leaves during class or leaves early will not receive a certificate of completion and as a policy of the Center for Real Estate Excellence will be treated as a no-show for the course. FULL TIME attendance is REQUIRED for the entire course in order to receive class credit and a certificate of completion. On any ZOOM course, FULL TIME attendance is considered as face-to-face on screen visual and interaction. If the student is driving, turns screen off, falls asleep or in any other way is non-responsive to requests for attention, the student can be kicked out of the class and no refund will be available. Attendance is monitored by the course instructor and/or School Provider depending on course. They have the full right to oversee attendance policy as noted here. PER THE IOWA CODE: An attendance certificate shall not be issued to a licensee who is absent from a continuing education program, course, or activity. The program, course, or activity must be completed in its entirety. A student who arrives late, leaves during class or leaves early may not receive an attendance certificate.

Certificates of Completion:
Certificates of Completion will be uploaded to THIS site within 48 hours of attendance, be sure to save your username and password.

Classroom & Zoom Conference Instruction:
Classrooms for the school are located at 4001 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines, Iowa, unless noted otherwise in the registration process.  “Live instruction” now means an educational program delivered in a traditional classroom setting OR by electronic means where by the instructor and student have real-time visual and audio contact to carry out their essential tasks. (Updated by IREC January 2018).  Zoom Classrooms are now available with the Center for Real Estate Excellence, however students should note the courses that are *Classroom Only* where Zoom Conference is unavailable.  Courses where Zoom Conference is available, students are encouraged to participate through their local Iowa Keller Williams Realty office to ensure working technology.  However, if a student needs an exception to that or is not near a local KW, contact the school for planning & approval purposes.  All "Live on Zoom” classes require that students are not in vehicles and/or driving at any time during the scheduled class time for their safety and to be eligible for class credit to be given to the student.
